Responsibility, Workhack

D.R.I. Method

DRI means “directly responsible individual”, which is a person that was assigned to take care of an agenda item of a meeting or workshop.

(Deutsche Version unten)

Description

In teams with many different activities, topics and responsibilities, it is a big challenge to ensure that open work sites are not forgotten just because no one feels responsible. Here it helps to artificially create a feeling of “ownership”, because as soon as people feel that they alone are responsible for something, the probability of forgetting decreases. Caution: This is not about implementation responsibility, but simply about getting the topic on the agenda again and again. DRI is something like distributed facilitation.

Procedure

Each agenda item is assigned a responsible person in the sense of a patron. This person ensures that the topic is not forgotten, reminds the team of the progress of the discussion to date, briefly introduces the topic and new developments, and documents the results and decisions on this topic.

DRI bedeutet „directly responsible individual“, also “direkt verantwortliche Person”.
